Concentrated vials
Tirzepatide amounts are larger than most peptides, so vials are often concentrated (e.g. 30 mg in 1 mL = 30000 mcg/mL). The syringe warns you in red if a draw exceeds the selected capacity — add water or use a bigger syringe.
Worked examples for 30 mg and 60 mg vials
These show how an entered amount converts to units at common vial sizes. They are arithmetic, not dosing guidance.
- 30 mg vial + 1 mL BAC water = 30000 mcg/mL. Enter 2.5 mg (2500 mcg) → 2500 ÷ 30000 = 0.083 mL → ×100 ≈ 8.3 units. Enter 5 mg (5000 mcg) → 0.167 mL ≈ 16.7 units.
- 30 mg vial + 2 mL BAC water = 15000 mcg/mL. The same 2.5 mg now converts to 0.167 mL ≈ 16.7 units — more water spreads the amount over a larger, easier-to-read draw.
- 60 mg vial + 1 mL BAC water = 60000 mcg/mL. Enter 5 mg → 5000 ÷ 60000 = 0.083 mL ≈ 8.3 units; enter 2.5 mg → 0.042 mL ≈ 4.2 units.
- 60 mg vial + 2 mL BAC water = 30000 mcg/mL. Enter 5 mg → 0.167 mL ≈ 16.7 units — identical to the 30 mg-in-1 mL case, because the concentration matches.
The take-away: units depend on concentration, so how much bacteriostatic water you add matters as much as the vial size. Change either in the tool and the unit count updates instantly.
